Structural Engineer Shipbuilding

Location: Netherlands

On behalf of a new project we received from our prestigious client within the high-end yacht building sector, we are seeking for
Structural Engineer Shipbuilding to join our team of engineers , you will be part of a multidisciplinary project team led by a Project Engineer.

You will be involved in the entire process — from the initial design phase to the delivery of the hull. No two projects are the same; every yacht is unique, making your work dynamic and challenging. You carefully process, verify, and integrate all technical details into an accurate final product. This is a responsible position with significant room for both personal and professional growth.

Your Role

• Perform structural analyses, including FEM calculations, strength, and stress analyses.
• Develop and review conceptual and basic designs for ships and yachts.
• Conduct feasibility studies and optimizations related to structure, weight, and material selection.
• Advise on construction methods and technical solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Ensure compliance with classification societies, flag state regulations, and project standards.
• Collaborate closely with design, engineering, and production teams.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Maritime Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in naval engineering within ship or yacht construction.
• Proven experience with FEM, structural, stress & strength analyses
• Skilled with ANSYS, NX, AutoCAD, CADMATIC, ShipConstructor or RFEM
• Knowledge of international regulations, classification societies, and shipbuilding standards.
• Analytical mindset with strong communication skills
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Valid work permit for the Netherlands.
